Streaks
Streaks are a powerful way to build a consistent journaling habit.
Getting Started with Streaks
During onboarding, you’ll be invited to commit to a reflection goal. You can choose anywhere from 3 to 10 consecutive days to start. This initial goal helps you establish a sustainable journaling practice.
Streak status currently only shows on iOS, but any entries written on other platforms will still count toward your streak total (following the same rules below)
How Streaks Work
- Write at least 50 characters in your daily entry
- You must write the entry on its date (e.g., if today is February 20, 2025, you must write the entry on February 20, 2025 for the entry to count toward your streak)
- Your streak counts consecutive days of meaningful reflection
- Missing a day breaks the streak, and you’ll start fresh
- Visual Indicators
- A flame icon (🔥) shows your current streak count
- On the entry screen, the circular progress indicator fills as you write
Setting and Changing Goals
You can manage your streak goals at any time:
- Tap the flame icon on the home screen
- Set a new goal, adjust your current one, or opt out of streaks
Streak Status
Your entry’s streak status is shown in three states:
- Active: Today’s entry in progress (shows progress toward 50 characters)
- Counted: Entry successfully counts toward your streak (shield icon)
- Inactive: Entry cannot count toward streak (entry is older than yesterday, represented by a line through a flame)
Tips for Maintaining Streaks
- Use Reminders: Enable daily reflection reminders to help maintain your streak
- Write Meaningfully: Focus on quality reflection, not just hitting the character count
- Check Progress: Use the circular indicator to ensure your entry will count
- Recovery Day: If you miss a day, you have until the end of the next day to maintain your streak
Streak Benefits
- Track your journaling consistency
- Build a sustainable reflection habit
- See your progress over time
